A green puppy was born in New Orleans last week. The puppy is perfectly healthy thus far, just green. Veterinarians say this occasionally occurs when the mother’s amniotic fluid mixes with the placenta during birth, which dyes the coat of the puppy.
Freak occurrences aren’t the only way to get the your dog or cat to go green, however. You can

Ian McKellen will be reprising his beloved role of Gandalf in the upcoming film versions of “The Hobbit” according to an interview in a British film magazine. McKellen told

Three disastrous tornadoes ripped through the Norfolk, Virginia area yesterday afternoon. The twisters, which touched down between 4:30 and 5:00PM, are, at last count, responsible for at least 200 injuries and have caused massive destruction to houses, businesses and property in the region. Thankfully and remarkably no fatalities have been reported thus far as a result of the disaster.

“Death and the River”, a multimedia exhibit of video and photographs, tells the haunting yet life affirming story of unknown victims of Colombia’s drug wars. Visual Artist Juan Manuel Echavarria documents a tomb (left) in Puerto Berrio, Colombia where unidentified cadavers found in the nearby Magdalena River are laid to rest. Each compartment of the tomb is marked “N.N.”, or Ningun Nombre - No Name. The victims can then be “escogido“, or chosen, by someone in the community who agrees to take care of their grave. The caretaker will decorate the gravesite, pray for the departed’s soul, sometimes even give the victim a name.
