When I wrote yesterday about blink-182, I completely neglected to mention Macbeth footwear, so I am making amends for that now, giving the company a full post.   It’s only fair.

Macbeth footwear is owned by Tom DeLonge, former blink-182 member.   The shoes look good, are designed by musicians and skaters and the like, and most importantly, Macbeth has a line of vegan footwear.   Here’s a video of DeLonge talking to Peta2 about the shoes.

I’ve got myself a pair of these shoes, and let me tell you, I look good in them.   Real good.   You can takepart yourself and check out the product line and pick yourself up some vegan shoes.

Being vegan rocks…. except of course when it comes to fashion. Many of the hippest hottest fashions for our bodies and our feet are still made with animals, making it hard to be on the forefront of fashion and the forefront of animal activism.

Natalie Portman, as you know if you’re a regular TakePart reader, decided to do something about it and designed some awesome vegan shoes. And here she is talking about them:

Woody Harrelson apparently forgot his vegan shoes and belt as part of his Cannes Film Festival ensemble last week. When his assistants couldn’t find replacements for them, he had the accessories flown to France. Says Ecorazzi:

“Now, in the scheme of things, having an extra pair of shoes and a belt on an overnight FedEx plane that was bound for France anyways is not going to kill a polar bear. But it’s the environmentally insensitive request from someone who truly lives the green lifestyle that has us puzzled. And that’s a first coming from someone like Harrelson.”

natalie2.jpgNatalie Portman’s starting the new year off on the right foot by launching a line of vegan footwear in collaboration with Té Casan. The shoes will be available for pre-order on January 15th, and 5% of profits will go to charity. Natalie, a vegetarian, is what you might call a closet vegan; though she doesn’t adhere to a vegan diet, the actress won’t wear clothes or accessories made of leather.
