I had a much better picture but I lost it.The Environmental Media Association, which likes to use celebrity clout to make a positive environmental difference, wants your old cell phone.   And they’re making it real easy for you to do, to boot!   I have no idea what that expression really means, either.   Help me, Google machine!  

Anyway, the campaign counts Rosario Dawson, Sienna Miller, Heather Graham and Julia Louis-Dreyfus among its supporters, and, “Each phone we recycle will raise money for EMA’s programs, including consumer education programs, PSAs and an environmental curriculum for schools.”  Can’t go wrong with that.

Alas, I am not in Austin but in New York City - but if I was there at SXSW, these are 10 films I would be seeing. They’re all TakePart friendly (advocate social change and action) in their own particular way - even if it isn’t obvious right up front.

Celebrate 10 years of V-Day on April 11 ” 12, 2008 with V-Day’s mega two-day anniversary celebration in New Orleans at the New Orleans Arena and Louisiana Superdome.

For two days, thousands of women and men will harness their collective energy to mobilize V-Day, the worldwide movement to end violence against women and girls into the next decade. On both Friday April 11 and Saturday April 12 folks can gather at SUPERLOVE , a place to heal, gather, protest, celebrate and activate to change the story of women! There will be story telling, great art, mural making, spoken word poetry, singers, dancers, rituals and marches.
