Here’s a new “5 Friends / Don’t Vote” video featuring more of your favorite celebrities: Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz, Snoop Dogg, Harrison Ford, Julia Roberts, Ben Stiller, Will Smith, Steven Spielberg, Justin Timberlake, Zach Braf, along with Sacha Baron Cohen as Borat etc. etc.

This is a second in a series of public service announcements, this video encourages American youth to vote in partnership with Google, YouTube, Declare Yourself, and MySpace. The non-partisan PSAs, produced by Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way, were created to engage and inspire young people to vote and participate in the upcoming election.

You like Fall Out Boy, right?  I thought so.   Be honest - the first time you heard “Sugar We’re Going Down,” you knew you were listening to a pop-punk classic in the making.   I mean, refresh your memory (skip to about 1:20 for that catchier-than-anything chorus):

Admit it.   You listened to the whole song.   Annnnnnyway, we’re not here to wax poetic on the finer moments in the Fall Out Boy repertoire.   We are, however, here to tell you that Fall Out Boy has teamed with dosomething.org to tell you about the dangers of global warming.   And, even more exciting, the website is offering 10 $500 grants this month to “anyone 25 or under in the US or Canada with a great idea or existing project focused on issues affecting the environment.”  That could be you!   The PSA the band filmed to let you know about the project, after the jump.

Come November, these famous friends of TakePart and the I Am Voting For campaign will be all about what (not who) they’re voting for, and encourage you to vote the issues ” not the personalities ” this election season. Forget about race, gender, campaign contributions and ill-spoken statements by loose-lipped advisors. It’s time to distinguish the candidates by the issues we care about, and the platforms that they stand on.

David Beckham says we need more nets…to fight malaria. Malaria claims one child’s life every 30 seconds - that’s 3,000 preventable child deaths per day. Beckham’s public service announcement below for the Nothing But Nets Campaign is helping to raise awareness and engage the private sector in providing life-saving bed nets, which are the most effective way of preventing malaria transmission.
