My first thought is that Stealing America looks to be a bit alarmist, which is never good when you’re dealing with something as controversial and personal as elections and voting. Our voting system is a serious issue - and I’m not sure a film that in the trailer asserts that fraud is happening is going to be taken seriously? What do you think?

The trailer for Frank Miller’s The Spirit is sure to whisk away your Monday morning droopiness. Will the film actually be any good though? I have a feeling this is either a movie you love, or one you could care less about.

The trailer is pretty good if you like cop dramas (what do you think?) - but more than that, what’s got me excited is that Pride and Glory is filled with people I love!

Colin Farrell (The New World, Miami Vice)

Edward Norton (Primal Fear, Fight Club, The Painted Veil)

Noah Emmerich (Little Children)

Shea Whigham (All the Real Girls)

Woo hoo!

Not much to say here except that the Half Blood Prince looks awesome. Even the worst films of the Harry Potter series had great trailers - I think it must be the ending music.

Woody Allen is back again and this time he’s taking us to Spain. He’s admitted that the reason he shot the film there was that they would fund it (he wrote a film set in Spain right after they told him they would give him the $.) Thus far what Vicky Cristina Barcelona is best known for is the fact that Scarlett Johansson, Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem have a threesome.

How do you think it looks? Will it be a new Woody classic or another Woody dud?

I’m always excited for new Spike Lee and this one is described a powerful tale that transcends national boundaries, something I am always interested in. Although this looks to be one of his more extravagant films. Do you think Lee’s intimate and political storytelling will work in a larger scale war story? Let us know and takepart to learn more about the “Buffalo Soldiers” in World War II and about Buffalo Soldiers in general.

Are you a Bond fan? What do you think of how the next chapter in the series looks?

I am personally excited to see Mathieu Amalric play the bad guy - he’s good in everything he does!

Be sure to takepart and read up on one of his more issue based films, Heartbeat Detector

Soccer/Football! I grew up playing it and love it to this day. I’ve always found it to be a sport that unites people, from the folks working together on the field, to the fans in the stands. Susan Koch takes that idea to the next level in her new documentary Kicking It. The film follows the lives of seven people that decide to represent their country at the Cape Town 2006 Homeless World Cup.
