Joanne Herring, portrayed by Julia Roberts in Charlie Wilson’s War, is an experienced party thrower. So if you get an invitation from this Texan socialite, you’ll want to say yes!

So say yes to an invitation from Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) to attend or host a screening party of Charlie Wilson’s War, which will raise awareness and spark dialog about the war in Afghanistan. What could be better than an event that lets you party, see a great film and at the same time?

How about a party/screening/ event PLUS a conference call with Charlie Wilson himself, IAVA’s Paul Reickhoff and Nathaniel Fick, best-selling author of “One Bullet Away: The Making of a Marine Officer.”

On April 30th, people all across the country can watch the film and join in a live at 9 pm EST / 6 pm PST. So gather some friends at your home, watch the film and then dial into the conversation. Before the call, you can email questions you want to ask Charlie.

Find a house party or download a guide to host your own.
