One of my favorite websites, Boing Boing, links to what sounds to be an amazing article about folks they call “self-experimenters.”

Alas, I am not in Austin but in New York City - but if I was there at SXSW, these are 10 films I would be seeing. They’re all TakePart friendly (advocate social change and action) in their own particular way - even if it isn’t obvious right up front.
Check out the entire SXSW line-up HERE and

1. Mister Lonely

A Michael Jackson impersonator lives alone in Paris and performs on the streets to make ends meet. At a performance in a retirement home, Michael falls for a beautiful Marilyn Monroe look-alike who suggests he move to a commune of impersonators in the Scottish Highlands. (U.S. Premiere)
Cinelan a new short documentary initiative, already has the support of popular doc directors such as Morgan Spurlock (Super Size Me), Ross Kauffman (Born Into Brothels), Eugene Jarecki (Why We Fight), Jessica Yu (Protagonist) and Steve James (Hoop Dreams). Cinelan plans to create a steady stream of 3 minutes films and will syndicate them online.
The topics the 3 minute flicks will cover range from the environment to arts and entertainment to sports to world affairs. It isn’t a site for filmmakers to upload their videos to however, instead interested filmmakers partner with Cinelan to develop a project for the site.
McDonalds helped out the Dow today with an 86 point gain…I bet those folks buying more at McDonalds “gained” something too.Just ask Morgan Spurlock, director of Super Size Me (and see the film if you haven’t already)
