Neither would-be lumberjacks nor chainsaw-toting sociopaths are likely to cheer a recent report about higher carbon emissions stemming from de-forestation.

Attention, aspiring lumberjacks and chainsaw-wielding maniacs everywhere: Forest-clearing releases three times as many greenhouse gases into the environment as previously thought, according to a new study out of Austrialia.

So go find something else to cut down — like the number of Pinkberry imitators. They’re everywhere.

Naysayers be forewarned - your top 10 global warming myths are about to be debunked! Climate change and global warming are anything BUT simple concepts, with tons of different factors interacting and influencing one another. One thing that we (or at least most of us) can agree upon is that the world is getting warmer due to human action, and there will be serious consequences if we don’t do something about it soon.

Eighteen states sued the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on Wednesday for failing to limit greenhouse gas emissions from new vehicles. The suit comes one year after the Supreme Court’s landmark decision outlining that the EPA had the power to limit said emissions under the Clean Air Act. In addition to these 18 states, 3 cities and 11 environmental organizations have also signed onto the suit.

The Supreme Court ruling was viewed as a major defeat for the Bush administration given their policy on global warming. Although the administration has admitted that some aspects of climate change are human-caused, they have been widely opposed to “across-the-board” limits on carbon emissions.
