Planet Green is casting for Tom Green’s new show, and wants you to be a part of it! As we mentioned back in April, one of the shows Planet Green has on tap for us is a Tom Green-hosted game show, and now it looks like they’re finally getting the show into gear. A casting call is being held for the show, which will be called “Green’s Got Game,” and wouldn’t you know it, I have the information right here!

Think you’re “green” enough to be on TV?!!! Are you “sustainable” under pressure?! Come audition for a new game show with TV & film star Tom Green on Discovery Channel’s network PLANET GREEN! If you’re environmentally conscious, always telling your friends/family to recycle, buy organic and favor the bike over the car, this is the show for you! Be part of the awareness and have fun competing for trips around the world!

The casting is taking place in Los Angeles, so some of you might not really be in the area, but if you are interested, you can takepart here to apply to join in on the crazy fun.

I love cooking shows and the Food Network and all that good stuff, so I’m pretty excited to tell you that Emeril Green, the new series starring Mr. Emeril Lagasse himself, will premiere on Planet Green tonight.  And not just one episode, either.  Starting at 8pm (or 7pm in the Central Time Zone, which is like Indiana or Tahiti or something), Planet Green will be airing six straight all-new episodes of Emeril Green.  Here’s where I would say “Bam!” or some other Emerilism to humorously tell you I find this news exciting, but let’s just leave that part out today.  Anyhow, Planet Green’s website describes the show as such:

Mmhmm.About a month ago, I posted something about Greensburg, Kansas rebuilding into the model green community following tornadoes that destroyed the town.  Well, apparently I’m not the only person that’s heard about this.  Go figure.

In fact, Leonardo DiCaprio, when taking a break from being Mr. Environmental Guy (actual nickname), is producing and hosting a 13-part series on the town for Planet Green, the new channel we’re all pretty pumped about.

The Discovery Channel, which helped bring you the almost-too-awesome Planet Earth and Blue Planet mega-epics, has announced that June 4 will be the launch date for a new television channel, Planet Green. We can assume that the channel’s name gives a pretty good description of what it’s all about. At takepart we’ve already told you that Adrian Grenier, the dude from Entourage who isn’t the brother of the dude from The Outsiders, is working on a show for the network. We’ve also mentioned that Tom Bergeron, who apparently hosts Dancing With the Stars (but I only know from post-Fugelsang/Fuentes era America’s Funniest Home Videos), will also have his own program. Yet there’s already so much more to love about this station, which is why I’m bringing you The Top 5 Things You Will Love about Planet Green, in no particular order.

1. Tommy Lee and Ludacris are in a show together.

“Entourage” star Adrian Grenier’s mania for sustainability has earned him a reputation as one of our most eco-centric actors, so it’s no surprise he’s being honored with the Vail Film Festival’s 2008 Blue Sky Award for Environmental Activism, as Ecorazzi reports:

Grenier’s commitment to environmental issues has long been a focus outside of the actor’s successful television, movie, and documentary projects. He has a home in Brooklyn that utilizes insulation made from recycled jeans, energy produced by solar panels, and other sustainable elements. Most recently, he signed on with Discovery Channel’s Planet Green to create a series “that will illustrate how making small changes in everyday living can be cool and simple.” Tentatively titled The Green Life, the show is expected to debut early summer “˜08.

The show will be produced by a new company Grenier “˜s formed with partner Peter Glatzer, named “Reconcile.”  The name conveys Grenier and Glatzer’s goal to inspire us all to make amends with Mother Nature before she totally disowns us. Ecorazzi quizzed Grenier and Glatzer on how they intend to use their show to spread the sustainable gospel:
