Earlier this year my friend introduced me to the site  http://www.zenhabits.net  which features daily inspiration in the areas ranging from achieving goals, productivity, being organized, motivation, eliminating debt, saving, getting a flat stomach, eating healthy, simplifying, living frugal, parenting, happiness, and successfully implementing good habits.

Today’s entry is 25 Ways to Help A Fellow Human Being Today. It features a variety of simple things you can do right now to make another persons life a little better. The post also included this great quote from the Dali Lama ” If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion.”  So practice some compassion and  by doing one of the 25 things Zen Habits suggests at http://zenhabits.net/2008/05/25-ways-to-help-a-fellow-human-being-today/

Has the Pope been hanging out with our favorite faux holy roller, the Reverend Billy? “˜Cause the Vatican’s brand new “To Don’t“ list seems to take some pages straight from our pompadoured preacher’s playbook. According to the Daily Green, the 7 new sins include:

1. Genetic Modification
2. Experimenting on Humans
3. Polluting the Environment
4. Causing Social Injustice
5. Causing Poverty
6. Becoming Obscenely Wealthy
7. Taking Drugs

How palatable will these newly minted no-no’s be to a society that glorifies self-gratification?
