Ten years ago, the band Wilco teamed up with the musician Billy Bragg to record Mermaid Avenue, an album setting unused Woody Guthrie lyrics to music.  Though perhaps debatable (not actually up for debate), the best track to come off that album might be “California Stars.”  What’s that?  You’d like to see a video of it performed live by Wilco?  Well, sure thing!

What’s that you’re saying now?  You’d like to see Wilco live, based on how amazing that performance was?  Well, they don’t have too many tour dates coming up, but here they are.  Yet almost as exciting as all this is that Wilco now dedicates a portion of its website to connecting people that have and need rides to the show.  As the band explains:

This part of the site exists to help you find and share rides to gigs with other Wilco fans in your area. With gas prices and temperatures on the rise, we hope you’ll utilize this service to find or offer alternative means of transport to upcoming shows. And who knows, maybe you’ll meet a neighbor who you had no idea was a Wllco fan.

Haha, the joke’s on them because everyone’s a Wilco fan.  I mean, how could you not love this:

Anyhow, you can takepart by visiting the The Passanger Side, the portion of Wilco’s website devoted to ridesharing.  Of course, for a slightly less-specific focus, you can takepart and visit eRideShare and find rides elsewhere.
