In a truly remarkable story, a five-month old baby, born weighing 580 grams (1.1 lbs), has come back to life in a hospital in Galilee. It happened in Kafr Yasif, an Arab local council in the North District of Israel. The baby girl had been pronounced still born for five hours when her 26-year-old mother asked to see her one last time. When she unwrapped the baby she saw it was moving. Dr. Moshe Daniel, the hospital’s deputy director, said that in his 35 years as a physician, he has “never heard of such a case” and called it a “miracle”.
Kafr Yasif is in northern Israeal near the city of Acre, which since ancient times has been thought to be the key to the Levant. Its population is evenly split by Muslims and Christians.
