Tomorrow’s news today, courtesy of Newsday. The U.S. Census Bureau just released a report announcing projections that by the year 2042 Minorities will become the new Majority.
Basically, the summary of the report is as follows: In 40 years, the U.S. will be older and more diverse. By 2050 minorities will make up 54% of the population, and 1 in 5 people will be over 65.
The minority will become the new majority, still possibly carrying the stigmas of the minority and the majority will become the new minority, possibly with the privilege of the former majority.
