Shhh.. don’t tell any of my arty, hip, New York friends but I secretly really like sports movies and I have to say, The Express looks pretty good. Not only does the trailer open with a mention of Jim Brown, my dad’s favorite football player and a Cleveland Browns hero, it goes on to present what looks to be an inspiring story of breaking down color barriers.
What do you think? Will it be a new sports classic or a cheesy dud?
Also, did anyone else notice that the awful head man who tells not to play Ernie is the same awful man who becomes the Notre Dame coach at the end of of Rudy and almost doesn’t play him?? Hmm… a football villain indeed.
Evil man aside, takepart here - http://www.amer-i-can.org/ - to learn more about Amer-I-Can, Jim Brown’s organization that founded to work with kids caught up in the gang scene in Los Angeles, California and Cleveland. It’s a life management skills program that works in inner cities and prisons.
