Public Alpha: have suggestions or feedback?
The Emmy Nominations for the 2008 season are here. I’m not a big TV watcher, with the exception of The Wire and Lost, but it’s always interesting to consider the nominations and this year is no exception. The complete nomination list can be found here but after looking at it, it has become obvious to me that I should focus on a glaring omission:
1) THE WIRE
I’m sorry, but it is unacceptable that this show not be nominated and even more unacceptable that none of it’s actors be nominated. I mean really, does William Shatner really deserve another nomination for Boston Legal? Not when Andre Royo, Michael K Williams and Lance Reddick are without one.
I’m not sure how anyone who spent 5 minutes with Royo’s Bubbles could NOT nominate him… He is the definition of best supporting actor and did more work in one episode than William Shatner has done in his entire Boston Legal career. And as much as I love Lost and love Michael Emerson’s Ben, I would easily chop his name of the nomination list for Royo, Williams, Reddick or any number of their co-stars.
When I first looked at the nominations I felt a little like Stringer Bell, standing in the warehouse in Season 3. I of course knew it was coming but nonetheless was surprised by the omission. I feel like someone needs to call the Emmy folks and tell them how it is Omar Little style:
I’m not even sure what else to write, so I’ll just leave you with what I’ve written in the past about The Wire, if you’ve never seen the show, give it a watch, you owe it to yourself.

Good lord the idiocy of these people. I tell myself it doesn’t matter and I shouldn’t care but it is actually knawing at me. Freakin Idiots. Boston legal? Really? That is a drama? My god that is ridiculous.
Patrickboston legal feels like a comedy - i love james spader and he deserves to always be nominated but after that boston legal has become old - the wire will go down as the best drama ever - imo - for whatever it counts - having said that William Shatner rules! i ain’t mad at him go get yours Bill! lol
sarahi saw the list and was in complete shock that the wire wasnt nominated. i mean shows like Pushing Daisy’s!!! Seriously!!! The Wire and it’s actors, actresses, writers and producers all deserve to be nominated but if the Emmy’s wants to snub them then it only makes them look bad. The quality of TV in the Wire far surpasses anything else up for nomination.
