Blair post’s about creating timelines got me all excited to make my own - so I did!

Instead of focusing directly on a social issue, I focused on a sequence in a film I love - Rainer Werner Fassbinder’s Lola. The film is a satirical critique of greed, development and capitalism, which relates to quite a few social issues of the day.

The time of ”Lola” is 1955, and the setting is a small German city where the politicians and businessmen, especially the city’s leading building contractor, are busily and profitably ”developing” all possible resources. Into their midst comes von Bohm (Armin Mueller-Stahl), the newly appointed building commissioner. The middle-aged von Bohm, well-born and handsome, stumps the crooked gang down at city hall as much by his elegant manners as by his cool, detached idealism. [NYT]

But back to timelines, as I posted earlier, cinema is having it’s fair share of problems attracting audiences attention and these timelines would seem to work well for the purpose of getting the word out on films that need and deserve some extra eyes.

On that note, while making my timeline at capzle I noticed a Batman Begins capzle… I also heard the other day that BB had teamed up with Dominos to premiere their new trailer. I wish those BB folks would give some of their promotions money to another movie because WE ARE ALL GOING TO SEE THE FILM. The first one was good and this one has more hype than it knows what to do with…

But anyways - have fun, make a timeline, see good movies and make the world a better place!

And of course, takepart and fitting with the theme of Lola, combat greed by donating those clothes you no longer wear to the Salvation Army!
