The French Open returns to Roland Garros this Sunday, May 25. The second leg of the Grand Slam will bring the superstars of the tennis world back to Paris to battle it out on the famous red clay.
Seeded at the top of the Men’s bracket are rivals Roger Federer, the World’s No. 1 ranked male player, and 2007 French Open Champion Rafael Nadal. Nadal comes into this contest having won the championship here the past three years in a row, and has won 108 of his last 110 matches played on clay, obviously his preferred surface.
In the Women’s contest the now favored Ana Ivanovic faces a stiff challenge from a recuperated Maria Sharapova who has been crushing the competition since recovering from last year’s back injury. Also be on the lookout for American Serena Williams and Serbian Jelena Jankovic to make strong showings in Paris.
You can
by learning more about one of Men’s favorite Rafael Nadal’s favorite charities, the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, a non-profit organization which uses the positive influence of sports to tackle society’s most pressing challenges around the globe.
