The devastating cyclone that hit Myanmar on Saturday May 3rd has left over 22,000 people dead and over 40,000 missing. Here are 10 places you can donate to support the disaster relief:

1) American Red Cross- The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies has also released an initial $189,000 and shipped shelter kits, made up of tarps, ropes and hammers, to support the relief effort in Myanmar. Additionally, the American Red Cross is prepared to respond with financial aid, estimated at $100,000, to aid cyclone survivors.

2) Oxfam International - Oxfam has committed more than $725,000 in aid to the Myanmar delta region.

3) Doctors Without Borders - DWB teams are bringing immediate assistance to Myanmar while additional staff and relief materials are ready to be sent.

4) Unicef - 130 UNICEF technical and operations staff traveled to the areas affected by Cyclone Nargis today, identifying the greatest threats to children and women and delivering lifesaving supplies. Women and children make up more than 60 percent of Myanmar’s population, and are likely to be gravely affected.

5) Direct Relief International- Direct Relief has committed financial assistance to support Australian Aid International’s emergency medical team.

6) World Food Program- The World Food Program has sent four aircraft loaded with critically needed food aid and other relief items for thousands of people struck by Cyclone Nargis in Myanmar.

7) AmeriCares- AmeriCares has assembled life-saving medical and other humanitarian supplies at our Stamford, CT and Amsterdam warehouses to be shipped immediately to our partners on the ground in Myanmar. AmeriCares staff are also en route to the region.

8 ) Save the Children- Save the Children has distributed 2 metric tons of food, plastic sheeting, water purification tablets, kitchen equipment, re-hydration salts and other non food items to over 30,000 children and families whose homes have been destroyed

9) MAP International Medical Assistance Program is working with partner organizations on the ground in Myanmar as well as with other international agencies in order to assess the situation and respond

10) US Campaign for Burma- Us Campaign for Burma is urning us to send a message to the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon today to ensure that international aid reaches the people of Burma. So far, the Burmese military regime has only let in a trickle of international humanitarian aid. We understand that 35 disaster teams from 18 countries have applied to help, and most are not being let in. Even the United Nations assessment team has not been given visas, 5 days after the cyclone struck.
