I had a much better picture but I lost it.The Environmental Media Association, which likes to use celebrity clout to make a positive environmental difference, wants your old cell phone.   And they’re making it real easy for you to do, to boot!   I have no idea what that expression really means, either.   Help me, Google machine!

Anyway, the campaign counts Rosario Dawson, Sienna Miller, Heather Graham and Julia Louis-Dreyfus among its supporters, and, “Each phone we recycle will raise money for EMA’s programs, including consumer education programs, PSAs and an environmental curriculum for schools.”  Can’t go wrong with that.

And it gets even easier.   EMA will give you a free pre-paid postage form to print out and use.   Totally free.   So you can go out and buy that new Nokia Remade, and not feel guilty about throwing away that Razr or Krazr or Blazr or Phazr or whatever the hell it was you bought, because - get this - you won’t be throwing it away!   People helping people.   A beautiful thing.

So and dig up that old phone and donate it to a green cause.   And even if you don’t use this specific program, there are loads of places to recycle that phone for a good cause instead of throwing it out.   Personally, I’m a really big fan of this one.   But, like they say in Airplane!, the decision to proceed is yours.   And also, do you like movies about gladiators?  That’s from Airplane! as well.   Ah, good times.
