Public Alpha: have suggestions or feedback?
Embarking on a world tour as of yesterday, Radiohead are trying to educate their fans about what the band is doing to reduce its carbon footprint while on the road, attempting to create an eco-friendly world tour.
Now, I know this is the third time I’ll have mentioned Radiohead. I know our very own Giulia Rozzi wrote about Radiohead two days ago. I also know that our very own Jon Popham recently talked about Prince covering the band at Coachella (though I wasn’t there this time around, I did get to see the Daft Punk set in 2006 and can die happy for that reason), but it seems Radiohead just keep on doing the right thing and making environmental headlines, or whatever.
Radiohead has officially launced a website obviously called The Most Gigantic Flying Mouth For Some Time, which will highlight how the band is attempting to make their tour more eco-friendly. As the site says,
In the coming weeks we hope to show you what Radiohead are doing to change the way they tour in order to reduce their own carbon footprint.
We want to show the failings as well as the successes, and who has helped us along the way.
The site also has a carbon calculator to see the impact you create by going to a Radiohead show, as well as some helpful links.
by checking out the website and keeping a tab on the band as they go around the world, hopefully playing How to Disappear Completely at every show. Have you seen them do that one live? Holy God it’s amazing.
UPDATE: You can see the setlist from their first show of the tour here. So far, so really really good.
