Nokia, the company that brought you that one ubiquitous (annoying?) ringtone, is sliding the other way on the obnoxious scale and has created a prototype for the world’s first truly green cell phone. The Remade, as it’s called, does one better than a recyclable cell phone - it’s a recycled cell phone. Or, a cell phone made out of recycled parts, at least. You still with me here? No. Maybe I ought to let someone else explain.

Nokia’s ‘Remade’ concept phone’s outer shell is made from materials like aluminum cans, plastic from drink bottles and old car tires. With the global warming fear and the pollutants harming the eco-system, technology steps forward and brings in this new mobile phone in a recycled form. Even the screen of this slim clamshell phone is made of recycled glass and the hinges are made of old rubber tires. [mobiletor.com]

The prototypes even look pretty cool. by visiting the site and learning about this exciting advance in technology. You can check out the site’s older stories about the run-up to this unveiling, as well. And though Nokia has not given a price or release date, I bet all you hipsters are crying over your ironic Pabst Blue Ribbons right now that you wasted all your money on the iPhone before getting one of these. You hipsters and your iPhones and Arcade Fires and tight jeans and Land Before Time DVDs…bah! Shave your scruffy beard and trade that Klosterman book in for a copy of Culture Warrior. And get a job! This “blogging” nonsense will get you nowhere.
