Public Alpha: have suggestions or feedback?
The interwebs are all abuzz with a video that’s making the rounds today which purports to be the official trailer for Disneynature’s first feature, Earth, which opens next year on Earth Day. Now, the video looks cool and all, but I’m almost 100% positive that all the footage was ripped off from the Planet Earth documentary. I’ve wasted spent enough of my life watching the series to notice a lot of the trailer (polar bear swimming, bird hopping, monkey swimming with other monkey on it, shark jumping…I can continue) looks suspiciously totally and completely like the stuff in Planet Earth. You can be the judge, after the jump.
I’m not even sure that’s Patrick Stewart doing the voiceover. And didn’t they say that Morgan Freeman would be narrating these things? Doesn’t Morgan Freeman, by law, have to narrate everything? Regardless, even if it’s not legit, the footage looks nice, and whoever made this had the good sense to use Sigur Ros for the music. I can’t fault that. Anyhow, when I’m at Disneyland tomorrow and Wednesday(!), I’ll try and get to the bottom of this. Seriously, living in Southern California + Disneyland annual pass = a lot of times on Space Mountain. It’s in the dark, you know!
and check out the blog and radio program, “Planet Earth Under Threat,” that the BBC has created to be a companion piece to Planet Earth. And even if that trailer isn’t real, doesn’t it get you just a little bit more excited about this Disneynature business?
