Nicole did a great blog post about Takepart’s “I am Voting For..” campaign that got me a little curious about some of the other videos folks have made about the issues that are important to them. They’re all great, but I was really struck by Bradley Whitford’s video:

I think what stood out for me was when he said “Really, I’m voting for hearts and minds, think about it.”

Beyond being really great, that quote got me to thinking about a film actually called Hearts and Minds:

Peter Davis’ documentary looks at the conflict in Vietnam and the opposing sides that drew the war out. If you’ve never seen it I recommend you do, it has a lot of great and necessary archival footage that needs to be seen. As does the film that the “I am Voting For..” campaign was created for, Chicago 10.

Be sure to and make your own awesome video mash-up that looks to why you want to vote and what is important to you (you’ll get to play around with awesome archival footage!). And like I said, rent Hearts and Minds for a great documentary experience.
