Has the Pope been hanging out with our favorite faux holy roller, the Reverend Billy? “ËœCause the Vatican’s brand new “To Don’t” list seems to take some pages straight from our pompadoured preacher’s playbook. According to the Daily Green, the 7 new sins include:
1. Genetic Modification
2. Experimenting on Humans
3. Polluting the Environment
4. Causing Social Injustice
5. Causing Poverty
6. Becoming Obscenely Wealthy
7. Taking Drugs
How palatable will these newly minted no-no’s be to a society that glorifies self-gratification? The Vatican’s handing these edicts down at a time when “becoming obscenely wealthy” is practically a religion in itself, and substance abuse may have surpassed baseball as the national pastime. Pollution and poverty? Just the cost of doing business, according to fans of unfettered capitalism.
1. Pride
2. Wrath
3. Lust
4. Gluttony
5. Envy
6. Sloth
7. Greed

Wow, Bush has violated at least 6 out of 7 of the new ones and at least 4 out of 7 from the first set. He should start reading Dante to get ready for his afterlife.
JamesHa,
I think you could get Bush on all 14 deadly sins and you could surely add a few more to the list starting with genocide!
GeorginaMy math equation representing how ‘evil’ can exist.
X + L > X
Where L = leveridge, such as size, colour, sex, power, money, bigger guns…
I don’t believe in evil, just big, bad bullies!
I hope the Catholic Church is looking closely at evolution for answers to man’s bad behaviour.
Becoming Compassionate
Inspired by Born Cannibal
by James Miles
Read it if you dare!
Evolutionary ideas are hard to take, even though evidence is hard to fake.
Many say, “No! For Heaven’s sake! It can’t be true!†Will we soon awake?
Survival of the fittest was natures way, to ensure our immune system saved the day.
It took billions of years or so they say! Darwin’s ideas! Some are surely ok.
He had many visions that were oh so new. Theories that made others sputter and stew.
The good news is if it’s true, we are getting better, both me and you.
Man’s bad nature can be explained. Relatives to chimpanzees entertained.
An Adam and Eve story was ingrained. A clear version of origin can be refrained.
From one cell, to two, to four then to more. We started to multiply, score upon score.
What god to follow? Who to adore? Or should I say, What? Are some bad to the core!
Many are looking for a religious savior. Should we not examine man’s behavior?
Species come in many a flavour. Why race at all? Why not just savor?
Start with the truth because lies are bad. Add our best science. Not so sad!
A more comprehensive story. Don’t get mad. Once we see it, we will all be glad!
Culture determines what we see and do. So do our genes. Please think it through.
Becoming compassionate will follow, too, if the evolution of man is rendered true.

lora brunckeWhere is DO NOT ABUSE CHILDREN?
lora brunckeIt was left out the first time, too.
I am reading Genesis 1:26 “And God said, Let us make man in OUR image, after OUR likeness, and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air…”

King James?
Being green has become the new “socially correct†form of behaviour for many, resulting in dishonesty as Western consumers exaggerate their eco-friendliness to keep up with their neighbours. A new poll for Norwich Union found that nine out of ten people tell “little green lies†about how much they recycle and how little they consume. More than half think that unethical living is as socially taboo as drink driving.
The Waveney Greenpeace confessional concept is based on the Earthly Sins booth which has appeared at the Glastonbury festival and in the lobby of theatre performancs by the comic Rob Newman. A secular construct, Earthly Sins asks penitents to sign a pledge that they will switch to renewable energy or ethical banking.
Read this carefully and you will quickly see that we have returned to the Dark Ages. We are selling indulgences again so that you can sin against God (Nature) and be forgiven. Planting trees now allows you to sin against Nature and you will be forgiven. Nature worship is now the religion that is being practiced by millions, even within the Catholic Church. In the United States we claim that we separate religion from government but Nature worship is now being taught in government sponsored schools. Selling indulgences takes us back to the middle ages; nature worship takes us back to the religion of the cave man. This is a serious problem.
